The HMI Verification Protocol
2. Usability and Navigation
A complex machine must be simple to operate. We verify that the HMI screens are logically structured, allowing operators to easily monitor the status of the EcoPal loading system, the individual assembly cells, and the overall OEE. We confirm that the language localization is correct and that all buttons and indicators correspond accurately to the machine's physical state.
When a fault occurs, the HMI must provide clear, actionable information. In conjunction with the Messages List Baseline (Checklist 210), we simulate various machine faults (e.g., servo errors, missing components, safety door open). We verify that the HMI displays the correct alarm text, identifies the specific station and component involved, and provides the operator with the correct recovery procedure.
